finished all the borders for this baby sweater
then realized that I’m going to have to rip it all out
because I hate mistake rib
because it looks messy and terrible
you guys I hate mistake rib SO MUCH and I didn’t even know it until this moment.
oh lord.
little known fact: the clothes in the movie “Coraline” were all hand knitted
by a woman with tiny fucking needles

SHUT UP NO THAT’S NOT A THING
Superfine Merino Wool Roving (18.5 micron) - handpainted spinning or felting fiber - 4 oz
Colors in this roving include lime green, silver, violet, and blue/green.
Was blow away with this combo of colors, immediately clicked-through for the maker…
found out it was the awesome WoolGatherings, from whom I just got to buy a roving for the first time! Will post it next.
But first, look at that hotstuff. T___T
GORGEOUS
Soft Architecture.
Here are some swatches I knit up for an architectural story I’m working on. All of them are made using Americo yarns which were pure luxury to work with and made translating solid structures into soft sweaters a wonderful experience.
Wow.
I’ve always loved the possibilities with cabling (which I haven’t tried yet) but THIS is so amazing.
There are times when I am overwhelmed by my love for knitters.
This is one of those times.

PORTHAVEN MARSHES
In Howl’s Moving Castle, the little fire demon who guards the hearth (literally and figuratively) is revealed to be a falling star, in a contract for Howl the Magician’s heart.
In the Miyazaki movie based off the book, the imagery of these stars falling is a feast of lights and velvet night.
I’ve tried to capture that with a purple base, some sections of handpainted purple-and-yellow roving, and threads of metallic-sheen roving in light rainbow colors, with dove-grey as an accent.
